Graduate Check-in & Timeline

You should arrive with cap and gown (regalia) on no later than one hour before your ceremony time.

Please note that the ceremonies will start on time (rain or shine). If you are running late, please find a commencement staff member (wearing a blue polo shirt) to assist you to the graduate seating area.

There are no storage or lockers to hold your personal belongings. Please bring only what you need for the length of the ceremony.

The May ceremony will last approximately 2 hours (2.5 - 3 hours for CHABSS 2), which is an estimate based on past ceremonies. Please be courteous to other graduates and stay for the duration of the ceremony.

Stage Pass Info

Check in with your Stage Pass at the main entrance. Your Stage Pass will note your assigned ceremony and will have a unique code/number. It will only valid for the ceremony you’re assigned to. In-and-out privileges are not permitted.

You will receive an updated printed Stage Pass at graduate check-in.

Name Announcement

As you approach the stage, the printed Stage Pass that is distributed at check-in will be scanned. Your name will be announced, and your name and major will appear on the screen. There will be obvious markers on the stage where you will stand so you appear on the screen and where you will shake hands with the president.

When you register for commencement, you have the opportunity to record your name as it should be read when you walk across the stage. Please double check that the name you want listed is noted correctly on the registration form and that your degree(s) and major(s) are noted correctly as well.

Livestream and video posted on the website will not be edited for corrections.

Please follow directions provided by the commencement stage staff so your image will line up with your name on the screen.
