First-year students are encouraged to complete their Cougar Scholars: Early Start Program requirements at CSUSM. Taking these courses on campus gives you the chance to connect with campus life early and helps you transition smoothly into your fall math or English classes.
Policy Update: ELM & EPT Tests No Longer Needed
On August 2, 2017, the CSU Chancellor’s Office issued , which provides policy changes to the way we serve incoming students.One of the changes eliminates ELM and EPT testing.
On November 20, 2017, the CSU Chancellor’s Office issued an Implementation Guidance for Executive Order 1110, which provides multiple measures that will be used for incoming first time freshman. Multiple measures are divided into four categories.
