Elections and Calls

Elections for the Academic Senate, Senate Officers, Academic Senate Standing Committees, and Statewide Academic Senate are held annually in the spring. Statewide Academic Senator elections are held when a term is expiring, or as otherwised determined by the Executive Committee. 

Any unfilled seats following close of Spring Elections will be seated through an Open Call. Special Calls may also be disseminated via email from the Senate Office on an ad hoc basis. 

Who can vote?

Constitution and Election Rules (Article 3: Faculty Membership)

Full voting members of the Faculty shall consist of tenured and tenure-track persons holding 
Faculty rank, including Student Services Professional-Academic Related Faculty (hereafter, 
SSP-AR); Lecturers holding 3-year appointments of any time base in academic departments;
Lecturers holding full-time appointments in academic departments; non-tenure-track SSP-ARs 
holding full-time appointments; and non-tenure-track Library Faculty holding full-time 
appointments. Full voting members of the Faculty shall be called eligible Faculty.
 
Lecturers holding appointments of one year or greater in academic departments, part-time non-tenure-track Library Faculty, and part-time non-tenure-track SSP-AR's may run for and vote in 
elections for  representatives to the Senate and as the Lecturer representatives on 
Standing Committees.
