APERC Volunteer Request
If you are interested in volunteering to serve as a member of the APERC, please indicate
your interest via our .
We are seeking volunteers from the CSUSM community, including faculty, staff, and
students, to participate in this important work. We hope that through this call for
volunteers there will be interested individuals who have expert lived experience and/or
have substantive experience with policy analysis and evaluation who are ready to serve.
The University has defined the scope of APERC responsibilities as follows:
- Review and provide feedback to existing and new CSUSM administrative policies and
procedures with a focus on fairness, inclusiveness, and minimizing systemic barriers.
- Following APERC policy review, propose potential solutions or suggested language changes
aimed at improving access, representation, and support for all members of the campus
community.
APERC Benefits
- Opportunities for experience with helping policy owners identify potential areas for
policy improvement specific to campus administrative policies and procedures
- Opportunities to exercise leadership, experience professional development, engage
in transparent policy dialogue, and professional networking with colleagues from across
campus
APERC Commitments
- Participate in orientation and training
- Meet once per month (estimated 1 hour per meeting session)
- Attend topical meetings (as needed) based on the volume of policies and/or procedures
to be reviewed
- Expected tasks outside of attending meetings are to read and provide feedback for
each policy and/or procedure scheduled for review
- Two-year employee commitment; One-year student commitment
Due to the expected time commitment, volunteers must confirm and indicate they have
discussed their membership with their leadership and have support to participate.
Though the committee is open to all volunteers who are interested in the work, APERC
desires to have a broad range of human dimensions represented from individuals with
one or more of the demographics and identities listed below. When completing the form
