The health and well-being of the CSU community continues to be our foremost priority as the COVID-19 pandemic persists. On February 9, 2022, the Governor passed Senate Bill (SB) 114 COVID-19 Supplemental Paid Sick Leave in an effort to support our workforce. The is available to active employees who are unable to work due to COVID-19 related reasons. The program will provide up to 80 hours (10 days) of supplemental paid sick leave, pro-rated based upon FTE and is effective January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022.

Up to 40 hours (5 days) of additional SPSL can be used only for the following reason when unable to work onsite or work remotely:
Vaccine or Vaccine Booster Time Limits
For each vaccination or vaccine booster, employee may use up to 3 days (24 hours) of SPSL unless verification is provided from a health care provider that they or their family member is continuing to experiencing symptoms related to a COVID-19 vaccine or vaccine booster. The 3-day (24 hours) limitation applies to each vaccine or vaccine booster and includes the time used to get the vaccine or vaccine booster.
Employees requesting paid leave under SPSL must submit an COVID-19 SPSL Request Form which will route to the Office of Human Resources.

Employees must "request" to replace leave accruals used for reasons cited above with SPSL retroactively back to January 1, 2022. Requests can be made using the COVID-19 SPSL Request Form. Campuses are not required to automatically adjust the hours.
