Microsoft Copilot is an AI assistant designed to support students, faculty, and staff in various tasks and activities. Copilot can generate content, edit existing content, and interact with web content on Edge browser. Users can also create custom Copilots (chatbots) and automated agents for specific tasks.

ChatGPT is an AI assistant provided to CSUSM as part of the CSU's AI initiative. ChatGPT licenses will be available until spring 26 as part of a limited pilot. Faculty, students, and staff can use ChatGPT to create and interact with content such as documents and images. Users can also create custom GPTs (chatbots) for specific tasks such as document summarization assistants.
